Katorina: This is the front of the metal that had all the holes in it.
Katorina: I liked the crusty bumps on the metal and the holes in the back.
Katorina: Looked like part of one of the trains
Katorina: RR station in the background, and the firehouse at the left side of the station.
Katorina: I liked the texture of the metal and the colors, in the late afternoon light.
Katorina: Metal Lace
Katorina: Some of these would have made interesting decorations with a big candle inside.
Katorina: You can see two of the rows of Coke ovens above and to the right of the metal barrels.
Katorina: Lord only knows what the white powder was that used to be in the barrels, but was now on our shoes, and probably in our lungs.
Katorina: These barrels were lined up close to a ramp that was probably used to load the trains.
Katorina: Even had a concrete floor.
Katorina: This was a little garage outside the station.
Katorina: There was an upstairs room, perhaps for the station manager?
Katorina: There were bird nests scattered here and there, so I guess it is a home to some.
Katorina: You'd think there would be a more comfortable place for the birds to spend some time than the skinny door edge.
Katorina: Here's the picture of the basement under the ticket booth, it was late in the day and I chickened out of climbing down into it.
Katorina: There was a basement under the ticket booth--why?
Katorina: Here was the little ticket booth, I'm guessing.
Katorina: Too bad this building couldn't be used for someone's home.
Katorina: It was a wellcrafted and pretty building, despite it's abandoned status.
Katorina: You could see the birds favorite hang out places
Katorina: The orange board is the back of the stairway that leads to the second floor.
Katorina: Back view of the Carbon Co, Railway station.
Katorina: There were all different types of bricks scattered about. Some had holes, some were different sizes and colors.
Katorina: The bricks in the foreground were from some other kind of structure that had toppeled.
Katorina: There were two or three strings of these ovens back to back. They were about 1/4 mile or longer in length.
Katorina: The bricks looked like beautiful mosaics in some of the giant kilns.
Katorina: This the top of one of the igloo shaped ovens, notice the hole at the top.
Katorina: These are Coke ovens down the track from the Geneva Coal mine. They are next to the RR station that would take the coal to Provo, UT
