OneLushLIfe - Kaishin: Iceland day 2 HiRes
OneLushLIfe - Kaishin: One of many great graffiti arts in Reykjavik.
OneLushLIfe - Kaishin: So you ask, what does a food, design, wildlife lover bring back from a trip to Iceland? The below and a whole lot of memories and photos! Icelandic Moss Schnapps & Brennivin Schnapps (both herbal); handmade Wool felted lamb skin slippers; local flavors
OneLushLIfe - Kaishin: Iceland Road Trip 2014
OneLushLIfe - Kaishin: Icelanders seem to love hot dogs and pizza, every small town diner, gas station and also found downtown Reykjavik at kaffi shops and food kiosks. I finally tried one at the airport. What's different? Weiner is made from pork, beef, and lamb. Fresh chopped
OneLushLIfe - Kaishin: Fermented (a.k.a. putrid) Shark
OneLushLIfe - Kaishin: Minke Whale meat.
OneLushLIfe - Kaishin: Icelandic Feast at Tapas Barinn
OneLushLIfe - Kaishin: Oh man! Just saw these complimentary use water wings! Thank goodness the pools are only neckdeep and very salty, which keeps me upright even if I trip on the lava rocks below :P that would be entertaining if I needed to use them ;)
OneLushLIfe - Kaishin: Mm... Enjoying the Blue Lagoon, Blàa Lonið, wirh a nice cold blue coloured raspberry slushie. Life is pretty good right now :)
OneLushLIfe - Kaishin: Icelandic Moss tea. It's earthy, aromas that remind me of Vancouver's forest, mossy, mushrooms, dried leaves, the damp earth. I love it, and also cannot wait to be back in our forests for a hike again.
OneLushLIfe - Kaishin: Discovered a basket of Icelandic Moss for making tea. It's hand picked, medicinal, and is supposed to be healing for colds, specifically lungs. I'm trying some :)
OneLushLIfe - Kaishin: Breakfast by the sea :) I'm in such a happy place right now... Homemade pancakes, all sorts of smoked and pickled fish, and homemade spelt bread.
OneLushLIfe - Kaishin: Just about to eat freshly shucked scallops, still moving :/
OneLushLIfe - Kaishin: Aboard the Særún with new friends, Leah and Melanie.
OneLushLIfe - Kaishin: A picnic lunch. Great views.
OneLushLIfe - Kaishin: A decent climb to the canyon. Unfortunately i ended being the only oerson there when i got to the canyon, ithe rocks in the stream were kind of too far apart for me to traverse safely on my iwn with camera gear. I only managed 1-2m inwards, befire decidin
OneLushLIfe - Kaishin: Bùðir beach front. Lava rocks, seashell sand, and lots of kelp.
OneLushLIfe - Kaishin: Finally remembered to get a shot of my little gnome friend, from the days of Sugoi. Gnomio approves of Bùðior beach front too.
OneLushLIfe - Kaishin: Baked fresh catch Ling Cod with her bed fresh whipped butter, mashed sweet potatoes, and salad.
OneLushLIfe - Kaishin: Cheers from me to you! Wishing you were here to share this amazing little town with. xo
OneLushLIfe - Kaishin: If only I had a lovely companion with me... Too good not to be shared. Chilled white wine by the sea, ordered baked Ling cod (fresh catch), on the patio in a tank top, basking in the sun, and listening to Eider ducks cooing in the distance. I want to grow
OneLushLIfe - Kaishin: Back garden by the beach.
OneLushLIfe - Kaishin: I've died and gone to heaven. My room has a double bed, private balcony to the garden, in a 1942 heritage house by the beach. First thin upon walking in I saw the modernised kitchen and just about passed out! Such a beautiful place.
OneLushLIfe - Kaishin: The inside of the Stykkishólmur kirkja. This one is for you, @seawallrunner!
OneLushLIfe - Kaishin: Taking the afternoon siesta was definitely worth it. Left to explore around 9p, made my way back into town by the docks at 11:55p to watch the sun set below the horizon. Oddly its set on a diagonal and seemed to have dipped below and up and back down. It
