1. Walk across the field to milk the goats just as the sun rises on our self-sufficientish small-holding in Central France..

3. Going to work in the woods. We have 4 acres of woodland where we coppice Sweet Chestnut, mainly, for sustainable carbon neutral firewood , building material and fence posts etc .

6. Another productive day- rewarded by a well-earned beer. You can just make out the ring of upright posts in the background which are the start of a roundhouse , this will have walls of wattle and daub and a reciprocal frame roof .

4. First things first!-Time for Tea - I forgot to bring milk so I had tea made with foraged ingredients-blackberry leaves and an apple..Mmmm!

1. New wind turbine installation on my journey to Boussac to lodge some money at the bank .

High tech-low tech - a brand spanking new wind turbine with an old fashioned well spotted on the road to Boussac.
