A beautiful sheet of birch plywood with some personality :) Just picked up the lumber for my standing desk carpentry project. YAY!

And the day ended with 8 legs, a frame and a cut table top after 2 saws, some quality time with a power sander and some very kind snickering and tons of help from my dad. :)

Distractions from hurricane sandy: I spent the weekend at the strangest hotel. There were horsie lamps in the rooms...still don't know what to make of it.

More hurricane sandy distraction: same hotel had creepy freaking statues. I think this one is Poseidon hugging a fish, but he's missing half his face.

Cabin fever distraction: more creepy freaking statues and carvings! Found on a fountain at the weird hotel.

Thankfully in blackouts daylight is the perfect time for hand sanding and staining a desk top. Next: assembly. #standingdesk
