bubbaisme: Ultra Shield seat shoehorned in after some judicious blows from a 5 lb. hammer. Going to the 3 lb'er for some more alterations. This is a 18" wide seat and a little to wide to fit. Needed a 17" driver and 16" passenger seat.
bubbaisme: more snaps. All the carpet snaps in except the tunnel top.
bubbaisme: finished up tunnel. I was always going to have carpeting covering tunnel but if no carpet I would do the edge joints differently.
bubbaisme: tunnel top before it got its hole for shifter
bubbaisme: ECM mounted on interior side of firewall-plug socket on engine side. ECM mounted w/feet to get it to the same angle as the firewall.
bubbaisme: How about this for carpet?? Home Cheapo indoor/outdoor carpet that is easy to work with and has held up great so far-3 years.
bubbaisme: tunnel top-parking brake set up-shorter cable was used from Mr. Gasket that is a throttle cable for something else.
bubbaisme: nothing is fastened down yet but the carpet seems to stay in place
bubbaisme: all edges are folded over and hemmed using Permacel 1" wide double sided tape and rolled with a J-Roller.
bubbaisme: hope everything fits with my new seats whenever they get here. Ultra Shield seat cleared the brake handle with no problem.
bubbaisme: parking brake-handle mounted to drivers side frame. Cable is a throttle cable for some other type car but it is the right length now. Works very well, holds car on my sloped driveway and has been flawless after 3 years.
bubbaisme: parking brake, had to take off side to get to frame to drill holes for mount
bubbaisme: mustang leather shift boot and homemade trim ring-boot is for 1999-2004 Mustang GT 5 sp
bubbaisme: shifter boot and some more carpet
bubbaisme: shifter boot-can kind of see the curve in the dash so it would clear the shifter. The bottom of the dash center is bent quite a bit, maybe 3/4" back from vertical to clear the shifter when it is in 1st, 3rd or 5th. The shifter shaft also was ground down.
bubbaisme: cam lock harness-easier and quicker then a latch system. I should have gotten "pull up" lap belt ends because there is no room to tighten the "pull down" belts once I am in seat.
bubbaisme: seat with harness. Padded seat bottom with 1/4" thick high density foam. Took 3 tries to get right foam density to make seat comfy.
bubbaisme: shoulder strap anchor points-bolts go thru frame in "trunk". Belts now just wrap around roll bar and use slide plates to lock them to roll bar which is much simpler.
bubbaisme: throttle cable coming into the gas pedal. Got rid of pedal for a home built floor hinged pedal. Hole in firewall is now covered w/removeable plate so I can access adjusting nut on top of pedal. Scrapped this pedal for a floor hinged pedal!
bubbaisme: aluminum tubes with bolts thru them to the "trunk" set the lay back angle of the seat and also bolt it to the frame
bubbaisme: Trim piece for raw edge on hood. Partly on. Since changed to the same type of trim molding but smaller.
bubbaisme: drink holders bottom-baked bean cans riveted to tunnel top then covered in carpet.
bubbaisme: another use for the garage door bottom seal. Lined inside of drink cans and placed carpet in bottoms of cans.
bubbaisme: No car should be without drink holders-Custom sized for my Thermos can cooler. Tunnel top is held down with screws and trim washers.
bubbaisme: Bin to hold things while driving. Kinda blends in and isn't too obvious. Positioned at rear most of tunnel top.
bubbaisme: This is why I needed something to put my driving crap in. Can't find my driving gloves to put in the box.
bubbaisme: glove box open. Dzus 1/4 turn fastener to keep it closed
bubbaisme: glove box in car with Dzus 1/4 turn to kinda lock the box.
bubbaisme: Bored waiting on the DMV so I made a "glove box" to fit on the rear of the tunnel
bubbaisme: room for 2 more gauges on the right. L to R--Tach, Speedo. Volts, Oil Pressure, H2O Temp, SC Boost, Fuel, Clock. Turn signal crap switch is at the landfill!
