bubbaisme: fuel system filter, pump, feed line and return line being mocked up.
bubbaisme: fuel system filter(blue) and pump--missing some fittings but on the way
bubbaisme: fuel system fuel pressure regulator will mount somewhere close to this mockup. This is on the passenger side of the cowl/firewall.
bubbaisme: fuel system adapted to stock L32 fuel rail. It is the black fitting with the green plastic. It saved me hours of work adapting some oddball way to get fuel to the fuel rail.
bubbaisme: fuel system in the tunnel then up thru the firewall
bubbaisme: fuel system lines going up thru cowl/firewall. Looking back thru tunnel toward fuel cell.
bubbaisme: fuel system in. The pump ended up bolted to a frame rail and not the plate. The plate does keep dirt and debris from the road from getting to the pump and filter.
bubbaisme: engine & transmission installed
bubbaisme: wiring -rear of car. All wiring eventually gets split looms over it.
bubbaisme: Throttle body-pressure reg.-O2 sensor-trick throttle cable. The whole throttle set up was replaced later with a cable system.
bubbaisme: FI fuel rails-full of green snot-old smelly fuel and who knows what else-some of the worst looking crap I have ever seen came out of the fuel rails and injectors
bubbaisme: FI injector tip. Engine fired after cleaning out snot but only on one cylinder-need 6 new injectors-4 years with old gas very, very bad. Cleaned injectors w/carb cleaner set up and all 6 injectors have worked great for the last 2 years.
bubbaisme: pressurize syringe with carb cleaner-hit switch 3-4 times and injector should spray. I am back flushing the injecter in this picture. All 6 injecters came back to life and work fine after 36 months
bubbaisme: how to clean injectors with carb cleaner, syringe and momentary 12v switch. Also need an injecter connector. Momentarily apply 12v to grounded injector and the solenoid operates, the pressure built up in the syringe sprays cab cleaner thru injector.
bubbaisme: 6 cleaned and working injectors with all new o-rings. The old o-rings were fairly brittle and broke when removing them.
bubbaisme: throttle cable- I wasn't completely happy with the original setup. I'll try this cable setup to see how it works. Old setup is still usable but will get modified if the cable setup works right. Cable setup has worked perfect for 3 years.
bubbaisme: using the original bracket just for the pivot for the gas pedal. Since removed completely in favor of a cable throttle and different pedal.
bubbaisme: Angle aluminum bonded under outside panel for hinged lid to rest on when closed. Also stiffens up the outside panel.
bubbaisme: left to right--attempt to make top pivot pedal that didn't go thru firewall. New bottom pivot pedal. 2nd attempt with original top pivot pedal. No pic of 1st original in this group.
bubbaisme: heel and toeing is much better and big surface area feels better. I like bottom pivot gas pedals better for a number of reasons.
bubbaisme: throttle pedal hole that was used for pedal # 1 and 2
bubbaisme: patch over hole that was for pivot of throttle pedal. No more hot air coming in cockpit.
bubbaisme: new pedal set up. With long throttle pedal the arc of movement is a lot less. Smoother and more adjustment.
bubbaisme: fuel cell
bubbaisme: fuel cell & pump being mocked up. fabricated an aluminum plate for the fuel pump and filter to be bolted to instead of bolting to the frame.
bubbaisme: gas pedal, brake & clutch pedals. Did not keep the throttle pedal, built a floor hinged pedal and cable system.
bubbaisme: TB clamped on-waiting for adapter plate from Wyoming, Michigan. Stock TB will not work because it is a drive by wire TB. The new TB has a larger throat than the stock TB. It is from a Northstar 4.6L V-8.
bubbaisme: cable attaches high on the pedal so stroke is less. Also can just use my ankle flex instead of moving my whole lower leg to push the pedal
bubbaisme: Fuel tank vent filter
bubbaisme: steering tube holes were fun to figure out where to cut the holes. Factory throttle pedal setup which I did not use. Changed to a cable system later in build.
