bubbaisme: dash board - amount of trimming to get right fit-covered with blue tape to prevent scratchs. The surface scratchs very easily.
bubbaisme: dash board -after cutting-covered with blue tape. That is a stock Camaro shifter that never had a chance of being used.
bubbaisme: dash with kill switch in
bubbaisme: could not resist the 911 type ignition switch position on the far left. It is where all ignition switches should be. Frees right hand to do other things when starting car.
bubbaisme: gauges in-still the blue tape-l to r tach,speed,volt,h20 temp, oil press, fuel, clock. Gauges are VDO Cockpit in black with white lettering and red needles.
bubbaisme: backside of dash with no wiring. VDO tach and speedo could not use ring lock mounts that came w/them because dash frames are to close together.. VDO sells standrad metal screw mounts which I ended up using.
bubbaisme: ign. switch-light switch-turn sig. & 4 way. Turn signal switch got chucked in the trash and I went to a small toogle switch mounted next to the key.
bubbaisme: looks funny but puts the knob right where I want it. Took a Mustang part to fix a Chevy problem. Boot will cover it up!! Bottom of dash gets bent back and fastened to clear shift lever.
bubbaisme: most of blue tape is off-I think this will be the semi final setup for gauges & switchs & lights. Dash is screwed to frame w/counter sunk screws that are covered up when hood is closed.
bubbaisme: back side of dash w/ looms on. Cleaned up fairly nice.
bubbaisme: oil pressure at 6AM 2-25-2012!!! What a long strange trip. Maybe start the thing for real today. Counter sunk screws at top of dash.
bubbaisme: Trim piece with hood closed down around dashboard. You can't see it but I now have a working tach. $80 and some wiring and presto, it works. Had to use a tach adapter from Dakota Digital because the VDO tach could not read the pulses from the GM ICM.
bubbaisme: Trim piece for raw edge on hood. Partly on. Since changed to the same type of trim molding but smaller.
bubbaisme: room for 2 more gauges on the right. L to R--Tach, Speedo. Volts, Oil Pressure, H2O Temp, SC Boost, Fuel, Clock. Turn signal crap switch is at the landfill!
bubbaisme: installed boost gauge to see if SC really works. Foam on top of dash frame since changed to a modified pinch weld seam gasket.
bubbaisme: They adjust from 20* forward to 45* back. Windwings with 10"' windshield since changed to 12" windshield and bigger wings. No real need to ever adjust them.
bubbaisme: Old turn signal switch-Stupidest thing I ever bought. I'm not sure what I was thinking at the time. The white thing in the passenger footwell is the battery.
bubbaisme: I think this is the finished dash lay out. New turn signal switch is far left toogle. Center off----left or right on.
bubbaisme: What everthing does
bubbaisme: Turn sigs have 90dB piezo buzzers behind dash and indicator lights in dash. Far left toogle is turn signal switch.
bubbaisme: View thru the wheel. I can see all the gauges except 1/2 of the volt meter. Replaced 13" wheel with 14" flat bottom wheel w/suede cover.
bubbaisme: dash-piezo buzzer-with no self canceling I need to know when the signals are on so I can cancel them B4 some old person pulls out in front of me. Very loud and I can't ignore them so they work as planned.
bubbaisme: Lights interior with hood closed. Led strip lighting on rear inside edge of hood. Main purpose was to have lights light the interior but turned out to light the engine great with the hood open.
bubbaisme: There is a 3/8" gap between the dash and the edge of hood. 2-12"LED strip lights. These use about .5amp/hr. Switch w/ dimmer in dash above and to the right of shift lever.
