bubbaisme: cleaned T5 GM 1532-247
bubbaisme: T5 w/tailshaft housing off
bubbaisme: main shaft7
bubbaisme: empty case
bubbaisme: input-left output-right main shaft
bubbaisme: T5 shift forks
bubbaisme: transmission mount-it is on upside down-changed B4 install
bubbaisme: engine & transmission installed
bubbaisme: new shifter-shorter-more compact-shorter throws and the best thing it is in the perfect place. Camaro shifter is sitting behind for comparison.
bubbaisme: looks funny but puts the knob right where I want it. Took a Mustang part to fix a Chevy problem. Boot will cover it up!! Bottom of dash gets bent back and fastened to clear shift lever.
bubbaisme: mustang leather shift boot and homemade trim ring-boot is for 1999-2004 Mustang GT 5 sp
bubbaisme: shifter boot and some more carpet
bubbaisme: shifter boot-can kind of see the curve in the dash so it would clear the shifter. The bottom of the dash center is bent quite a bit, maybe 3/4" back from vertical to clear the shifter when it is in 1st, 3rd or 5th. The shifter shaft also was ground down.
bubbaisme: "new" transmission with paperwork from a junkyard. This is after cleaning. 1999 Camaro. Just like my current one from a 1996 Camaro but it has approved DMV paperwork. I now have a spare trans to play with.
bubbaisme: Spec Clutch-pressure plate-throwout bearing. Very narrow take up point on clutch, but I got use to it.
bubbaisme: John, you'll like this pic. Made a lot of noise after the engine fired up. Need some stiffer metal like steel. This is the flywheel/bell housing shield. New one made from aluminum the same thickness as the body aluminum.
