bubbaisme:
front suspension redo finished-heim joints for the upper control arm and the tie rod end. Completly adjustable for Roll center and bump steer.
bubbaisme:
front suspension redo-Old suspension was very good. New suspension feels a little more precise and feels slightly lighter. Lowered steering wheel static turning force from 18.5lbs. to 12lbs. Suspension movement seems crisper.
bubbaisme:
front suspension redo- repalced tie rod ends, upper ball joints with Heim joints. Old upper was a 1970 Ford LTD tie rod end, old tie rod end was a Mitsubishi/Sebring part.
bubbaisme:
New tie rod end. Almost no friction unlike the old tie rod end. My car desevered better than 1940's technology
bubbaisme:
This Heim replaces a part from a 4000 lb. 1970 LTD. Removed almost all friction from joint. Old joint was 25 lbs to get movement, new is zero.
bubbaisme:
New upper ball joint. Shimming the height will change upper control arm angle to make roll center changes. I set all angles the same as stock since they work good.
bubbaisme:
New Heim joints. Also replaced lower ball joint with a much higher quality part from XRF. I wanted a AFCO part but they don't make mine yet.Lower ball joint is an upper ball joint for a late 1990's Chevy C/1500 pickup and other assorted vans and trucks.
bubbaisme:
Old ball joint ends. They work fine but have a ton of friction. Test drive soon to see if I helped the car.
bubbaisme:
front suspension painting-back together with silver paint-still have to do headlight stalks
bubbaisme:
steering rack in & bolted down with scratch built hold down straps because I could not source the GM factory straps
bubbaisme:
Almost a car with front suspension partly together but hubs not modified for Wilwood brakes.
bubbaisme:
lower front A-Arm ball joint B4 drilling. I used ball joint mounting plate for a templete to drill thru
