gttexas: The Goldbelt Tram descends. I'm just outside the terminal at the base of the ride. On a clear day there is a good view of Juneau and the port.
gttexas: It was a typical rainy day in Juneau, but not too bad. People were going crazy to eat King Crab.
gttexas: An old favorite touristy stop, the "Red Dog Saloon"
gttexas: New since the last time we were here, they have their own Mercantile selling souvenirs, T-shirts, etc., and it's almost as big as the saloon itself.
gttexas: Inside the Red Dog Saloon. Yes that's sawdust on the floors. It's definitely as hokey a tourist stop as there is, but still fun. You expect to hear someone break out singing "Springtime in Alaska" or "North to Alaska" at any moment.
gttexas: As you can see everything from life preservers to garbage cans to dollar bills make up the "decor".
gttexas: Most folks, including me, were really there for a picture.
