JJC2008: Sun 17 Aug 2014 - Flight from Gatwick at 12:20 to Keyflavik airport, Iceland
JJC2008: D0:- Two glaciers near south coast. Eyejafjallajokull on the left, this volcano blew in 2012 before our arrival then.
JJC2008: D0:- Barren terrain around airport and to south of Reykjavik, mostly old volcanic debris.
JJC2008: D0:- Heading to collect the 6 4WDs to get around to our various locations.
JJC2008: D0:- Our 4WDs at the Hotel in Vogar. 3 Hyundais, 2 Subaru, 1 Jeep.
JJC2008: D0:- Walkaround by the sea from the hotel, Some of the local houses.
JJC2008: D0:- Old style hut with earth covering over the walls and roof.
JJC2008: D0:- Cycle being towed by a Husky and another dog (he's not doing much)
JJC2008: D1:- Mon 18 Aug 2014 Heading SE to Hyeragerdi to meet up with Oscar, our guide. Icelandic ponies, typical farmland.
JJC2008: D1:- Mon. Farmland, plenty bales of hay. Only a few months of summer.
JJC2008: D1:- Mon. geysir another view.
JJC2008: D1:- Mon. Geysir. lots of hot bubbling pools as well.
JJC2008: D1:- Mon. Geysir goes off about every 20 minutes and then subsides.
JJC2008: D1:- Mon. Gullfoss waterfall, a massive flow of water. spectaculer. And lunch

JJC2008: D1:- Mon. At Hveravellirir. In lovely hot thermal pool keeping the compression bandage on leg out of the water.
JJC2008: D1:- Mon. Very soapy feel to the water, very pleasnat in the cold evening.
JJC2008: D1:- Mon. Hot hose at far end, cold at the near end. Result - lovely.
JJC2008: D1:- Mon. At Hveravellirir waiting for out meal in the mess tent. Pretty cold out and in.
JJC2008: D2:- Tue 19 Aug 2014. Hveravellirir. Our tents, which we set up the previous evening. Fairly cold overnight.
JJC2008: D2:- Tue. Breakfast done and picnic sandwiches made, had an extra for breakfast.
JJC2008: D2:- Tue. Heading along boardwalk. Geothermal area, hot springs etc.
