Eva Funderburgh: Hour 8, 560c. Everything going well in the firing. Hot chai + podcasts of wait wait don't tell me ftw.
Eva Funderburgh: This cat has adopted us. I'm calling it Fred, since it likes to hang out on top of the Fred Olsen crossdraft kiln.
Eva Funderburgh: All work is wadded and ready to load. We're just waiting on some last minute kiln repair. 90 fliers!
Eva Funderburgh: Another shot of paradise grove.
Eva Funderburgh: 60+ flying beasts on one shelf! I feel like I'm building a tessellation.
Eva Funderburgh: Finished up the big nest form.
Eva Funderburgh: Working on a big abstract nest form. I've also finished 64 flying guys. Soda firing in a week!
Eva Funderburgh: Things are going well in the studio. I'm now at 56 finished fliers + an abstract nest form.
Eva Funderburgh: Calling it a night. It's amusing how many of the artists work until at least 11pm. I now have 26 flying guys done.
Eva Funderburgh: Took off on a bike to explore, and ended up sitting by a windbreak in a farmers field for sketching and snacks.
Eva Funderburgh: I now have 18 beasts done, 14 presently in progress. I think I'll cast a white "royal porcelain" version.
Eva Funderburgh: GG is going well. Each day is a mix of working, talking with the other artists, exploring skaelskor, and more work.
Eva Funderburgh: Just got my studio space set up at gg. I'm going to borrow a bike and go explore the town. Getting clay after supper.
Eva Funderburgh: Here's a sneak peek at the pit firing results so far. First firing on top, second round below. No time for a round 3.
Eva Funderburgh: Trying a second round of pit firing. This time I've created a fire screen to contain any escaping sparks.
Eva Funderburgh: I'm letting most of the pieced from the pit firing, but I pulled out one early to see how it turn out. Pretty good!
Eva Funderburgh: About to test out the fire pit I built in my back yard with a teeny tiny pit firing. Crossing my fingers!
Eva Funderburgh: Working on blue set of birds number 3.
Eva Funderburgh: Soaking straw and raffia in salt water for use in future pit firings. Had to get a bit creative to hold them under.
Eva Funderburgh: Just finished the test swarm of flying beasts. Next to burnish them, pit fire them, and figure out how to hang them
Eva Funderburgh: "hide and seek" is finally done! I think I'll attach the little beasts after the fact.
Eva Funderburgh: Progress being made on "hide and seek". Just need to make faces for the little guys now.
Eva Funderburgh: Progress on the hide and seek beasts! The big one is mostly done, moving on to the little guys. Tough to photograph
Eva Funderburgh: Found an awesome rock.
Eva Funderburgh: Went for a walk looking for someplace to brainstorm, and found Ravenna park. Had no idea it was here + so cool.
Eva Funderburgh: Our cats are insufferably cute
Eva Funderburgh: The biggest problem with working at home
Eva Funderburgh: Making progress on the goat
Eva Funderburgh: The terryfing results of beth's eyeball demo.
Eva Funderburgh: Back at the workshop, after a late night online with east coast friends. Different worlds, but I enjoy them both
