I reluctantly told Esme she could use her washable kids nail polish as face paint for her Barbies, but I have to admit she did a pretty good job.

It was a very rough parenting day but these drawings (for my sister and co visiting this weekend) help restore balance to the universe.

Esme did this sketch of her American Girl Doll (Caroline) for her godmother today. I really love it.

I'm trying to introduce Esme to the concept of sketching objects in real life. I feel like the blind leading the blind but I think we made a good beginning. I did our antique doll chair and she did the dining room light fixture.

Esme has been talking about making her own stuffed animal for a while. She wrote out plans for sewing a stuffed owl and wants to start "first thing in the morning." I think we're going to have to do this for real.

A bit of Frozen obsession going on around here. I like Esme's graphic eye, backwards Z and all.

Finally started paper plate weaving with Esme today--something I've been meaning to do for months. Now I want to weave like crazy.

The girls are antipating a visit from Mimi, who is traveling up to St Louis today for a visit. Not many grandmothers are this young or hip...or wield a make-up brush this large.

Sweet drawing by Esme this morning. She wants me to take it to the school and deliver it to her soon-to-be teacher, Ms. Anna.
