Tahini: View from across the street.
Tahini: The tulips are new from last fall -- the rest are all perennials or bulbs that came back. I have a few holes to fill in, but not too shabby!
Tahini: For some bizarre reason none of the pink moss phlox under the tree came back, but all of the violet did! Weird.
Tahini: Double tulip. Love it!
Tahini: White and pink double tulips. I wish I'd realized that the height differential would be so severe. The candytuft clumps are huge this year, and the dianthus seems to be thriving behind the candytuft.
Tahini: White daffodils came back nicely in their second year.
Tahini: The helleborus (lenten roses) went crazy this year (except the one I over-pruned when trying to remove winter-damaged leaves).
Tahini: Once again I love the juxtaposition of tahiti daffodils and bleeding heart.
Tahini: Helleborus (lenten rose) flowers up close.
Tahini: The tulips are putting on a heck of a show.
Tahini: There is no such thing as too many tulips. And I love the white lines on the foliage for the yellow ones.
Tahini: Tulips up close.
Tahini: My heavy shade garden still looks a bit scraggly.
Tahini: I planted this lungwort last spring, but too late to see it bloom. It has a lot of color for a shade perennial. Cool!
Tahini: Tahiti daffodils are gaudy, but awesome.
Tahini: The front garden looks slight wild, but is doing well. I need to fill in a few empty spots. My philosophy: a garden filled with wanted plants has little room for weeds.
Tahini: These red double tulips are almost ready to bloom under the weeping cherry tree.
Tahini: Red (or hot pink) double tulip bud.
Tahini: Moss phlox (all violet now) and leopard's bane under the weeping cherry.
Tahini: I see a few holes that need filling. I wish the house didn't face quite so due north, so I'd have some more options in my foundation gardens/plantings.
Tahini: The Stewartia tree is significantly taller than me now, and the leaves are coming back nicely. I wonder how many years it will be before it becomes a focal point for my garden.
Tahini: Love this photo of the front stoop through the Scotch Broom (even the dead parts I haven't pruned off yet).
Tahini: I also planted my Pieri too late last spring to see its flowers. So yay!
Tahini: The Solomon's Seal just popped back up this morning.
Tahini: Rear view of the bleeding heart and its friends.
Tahini: Wow! It seems awfully early for an iris bud, but I guess it has been a really warm week!
