dcsdom: Photographing the rhinos in the Khama Rhino Sanctuary, Botswana
dcsdom: These rhinos are seriously under threat of extinction due to poaching
dcsdom: Incredibly each rhino horn is worth around US$500k, particularly as it really has no proven medical benefit.
dcsdom: I took this shot of this beautiful tree in Botswana's Okavango Delta
dcsdom: Although the weather looks relatively benign here, a few minutes later we all all had to shelter from a brutal storm (and protect our camera equipment).
dcsdom: Okavango Delta, Botswana
dcsdom: For many people, the ancient baobob trees symbolise Africa.
dcsdom: This gives you a sense of scale of the baobab tree.
dcsdom: The Okanvango Delta is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to a number of endangered species.
dcsdom: The delta is incredibly flat and subject to seasonal flooding.
dcsdom: This is a silhouette of a baobab tree.
dcsdom: The wildebeest congregate in packs in order to protect themselves from predators.

dcsdom: Another shot of the Okavango Delta, one of the highlights of any trip to Botswana.
dcsdom: Botswana
dcsdom: The Okavango Delta is full of beautiful flowers.
dcsdom: I'd hoped to see a leopard. Although it wasn't possible, we did spot this tiny creature, known as a leopard tortoise.
dcsdom: This shot was taken from my boat on the water.
dcsdom: Walking on foot and travelling in these long canoes (mikoros) really are the only effective forms of transport in the Okavango Delta Delta.
dcsdom: The Poler people were our guides in the Okavango Delta
dcsdom: This elderly gentleman looked very serene so I discretely took this snap of him.
dcsdom: This gentleman was relaxing by the river when I took this photo.
dcsdom: I saw these empty beer cans embedded into the walls of one of the houses in Botswana. I am sure that there is a logical reason for this but I am yet to find out.
dcsdom: These girls were hanging out as we passed through the village.
dcsdom: Before we had the chance properly to explore the salt pans of Nata our vehicle managed to get stuck in the water. Fortunately help was soon at hand and the car was towed to safety.
dcsdom: This shot of a wildebeest was taken on the salt pans of Nata.
dcsdom: Nata at sunset time was a very relaxing place. I just had to remember to apply bug spray as plenty of mosquitoes were buzzing around.
dcsdom: I've always thought that there is something very special about an Africa sunset.
dcsdom: Although the buffalo looks like a sedate creature, it is one of the most dangerous mammals. Fortunately I had a long enough zoom lens to take this shot from a safe distance.
dcsdom: We also saw loads of hippos in the Chobe National Park.
