David Lozeau: Working on a new samurai sketch to live paint at this weekend's event in Tempe
David Lozeau: Starting on the background for another painting for this weekend in Tempe...layer 1
David Lozeau: Layer 2...still looking like sherbet, but this, too, shall pass
David Lozeau: Finished with this background...time to finish up my sketch
David Lozeau: Starting on my new samurai painting...
David Lozeau: My samurai and his horse will be on a somewhat traditional side and the Hannya character will be a little, ummm, hefty

David Lozeau: Ready to paint all day in Tempe...but I also might melt in the sun
David Lozeau: Done with the gouache underpainting--ready for the enamel line work
David Lozeau: Starting on the enamel line work...I'll try to get a lot of painting done in the next two hours
David Lozeau: Making progress, but I'll have to stop soon...
David Lozeau: Done for the day...back at it tomorrow at 10a in Tempe
David Lozeau: My new samurai painting is coming along, but I'm melting in the sun
David Lozeau: Finally painting the demon
David Lozeau: A little more progress on the demon...trying to finish this up before the event ends
David Lozeau: Almost done!
David Lozeau: I just need to do a little cleanup, add some shadowing and weight to the bottom, clear coat it, and build the frame...other than that, I'm dungy! I'll get it photographed in a few weeks, so prints will be available in about a month.
David Lozeau: Sorting through some salvaged goodness as I start to think about a frame for my Samurai piece.
David Lozeau: Frame building day...as of right now, I still have all 10 of my fingers
David Lozeau: Ready for staining!
David Lozeau: Painted, framed, & ready to go to the photographer! Traditional Japanese imagery/comics/mythology/flash are so fun/inspirational/challenging!
