Oh yea, this is gonna be fun to paint
David Lozeau:
Working on the gouache background a little more before tackling the enamel line work
David Lozeau:
The underpainting is done--ready for the enamel detailing
David Lozeau:
Painting right to left...I want to get to the skeletons, but that won't happen until tomorrow morning
David Lozeau:
Packing up the paints for the night...leaving the bulk of the work (and fun!) until tomorrow.
David Lozeau:
Close-up of the painting progress...back at it at 10am PST tomorrow
David Lozeau:
Ready to tackle this WWII painting today in AZ
David Lozeau:
Getting to the good part...skelly hands
David Lozeau:
A little more progress...going to paint right across the middle section to try to finish the sniper today
David Lozeau:
Taking a quick lunch break, but here's where this weekend's painting is right now
David Lozeau:
Got a little more done...I'm going to try to finish up the shooter before the event closes at 5p
David Lozeau:
Tying up some loose ends before they close down...I'll have to finish painting this during the week
David Lozeau:
I have to stop here for the night...back at it later this week to finish up the sniper and spotter
David Lozeau:
I'll be live painting my WWII sniper & spotter piece all day at the Carefree Fine Art & Wine festival...more process pics coming up
David Lozeau:
Working right to left...on the spotter's skelly hands right now
David Lozeau:
Quick break for lunch & then I'll get to painting the helmets
David Lozeau:
Close up of the painting progress
David Lozeau:
In the home stretch...I just have to paint the backpack & gunstock
David Lozeau:
Taking a quick break & then I'll decide if I'm done painting this or not...
David Lozeau:
Dunzo! Now I just need to clear coat it (to lock in the gouache & unify the colors) & then build the frame. Right now, it's 36x14 Acrylic, Gouache, & Enamel on Clayboard & the frame will bring the total measurement to about 48x22.
David Lozeau:
