Wonderful brunch at Symmetry this morning. Mozzarella beignets were a misnomer - they really were just fried mozzarella balls, but what's in a name? Delicious.

At Symmetry: Duck eggs with salted yolk crumble - underneath was pancetta, chorizo, pearl barley, cress, and bread crisps. Woah my god.

Continuing my exploration of Windowsill Pies - apple today, but not a fan, I'm sorry to say. More solid apples, please, and less custard and apple jelly. Gotta stick to tradition with apple pies.

Superb dinner at Rabbit Carrot Gun - fabulously fresh ingredients all just put together perfectly well. Beetroot ravioli with mixed mescluns and feta.

At Rabbit Carrot Gun: Mr. McGregor's fish pie topped with mash potatoes - found that fine balance between just enough savory cream and generous chunks of fresh cod.

Pan-fried black cod on risotto cake with sundried tomatoes at Rabbit Carrot Gun - fresh fish, seared nicely with a light crisp and lots of juices underneath. If a fish could be al dente, this was it.

Grain-fed (sorry, not grass) 120-days-aged ribeye - rare, no sauce - best compliment I could give to a sensational slab of steak at Rabbit Carrot Gun.

The Perfect Platter at Rabbit Carrot Gun - five cheeses of marinated goat feta, Jindi Triple brie, farmhouse mature cheddar, Roaring Forties Soft Blue, and English Stilton. Favorites: Let's just say that's why they call it the blues.

Symmetry has absolutely skyrocketed into my list of favorite restaurants in Singapore, and I didn't even know why until I got to the end of Friday night dinner.

Yeah, everyone and their Hard Rock Cafe chef serves truffles fries, but Symmetry calls theirs "potatoes" and that's because these frites are THAT solid.

Hickory roasted corn with comté and lime is like Beale Street on its best behavior, although I sho'wished there had been more of that barbeque sauce, at Symmetry.

You know when you eat bulgur with cranberries, hazelnut, crème fraîche, spring onions, and quinoa in Singapore and dream of Turkey, it's an Ottoman home run, at Symmetry.

Pan-fried whole barramundi stuffed with fennel, onions and black olives in a great presentation - I only wish my stroke was as good as this fish's at Symmetry.

Catharsis: Symmetry's chef Abby is Le Cordon Bleu-trained and attitude is Franco-Aussie, but can this Compressed Baby Carrots dessert be any more #SoScandi?
