I didn't go into Museum Gouda (I almost did, for the medieval torture exhibit - mentally cat o'nine tail whipping myself now), but the old hospital it's in is gorgeously replete with beautiful, colorful carvings.

Van Vliet is where I met Stroopwafels. I had heard of the legend, but our palates didn't cross until Gouda, where they were invented, at this bakkerij which has been making these angels fresh for centuries.
