Desiree Koh: Tennis Lynette bought me a belated birthday lunch at The Disgruntled Chef (after tennis, of course).
Desiree Koh: Baby spinach salad with mirin dressing and marinated egg.
Desiree Koh: Do you know what it's like to miss New Orleans?
Desiree Koh: I have never been to Maryland or any part of the Chesapeake Bay, but I have always been in love with crabcakes.
Desiree Koh: It's jarring - stop with jar servings already. It's absolutely so cliched, and I am unable to dig everything out of an enclosed glass compartment.

Desiree Koh: I was both thrilled and apprehensive to see Sandwich Saigon open in the neighborhood.
Desiree Koh: Fresh spring rolls at Sandwich Saigon - nice, very serviceable, although I couldn't quite taste the pork.
Desiree Koh: At the bottom of my Vietnamese iced coffee at Sandwich Saigon, I was informed that my glass was made in Thailand.
Desiree Koh: A steak and Guinness pie at Big Ben's Pies.
Desiree Koh: Eng's wanton mee has been an East Coast institution for the last 80 years.
Desiree Koh: Just starting - more came. No time to take pictures then.
Desiree Koh: This is just one piece of the puzzle - this was seriously one of the biggest Teochew porridge spreads I have ever seen in my life.
