Desiree Koh: April 10, 2009. The LZBs kicked off two weeks of celebrations (ie, feasting) with this brunch at Indian Times.
Desiree Koh: An array of chutneys and sauces to go with.
Desiree Koh: Zully performed gaucho duties.
Desiree Koh: The guest of honor, Javier!
Desiree Koh: Nice mohawk-ready hair.
Desiree Koh: The only LZB Javier will be carried by, Chris.
Desiree Koh: There was also a neverending flow of curries. We had the paneer, a chicken curry, a dal and a basket of naan.
Desiree Koh: And this lamb curry.
Desiree Koh: Apart from the kebabs, which we ordered four rounds of (across two grills), we had a round of the curries for each half of the table.
Desiree Koh: Happy dad.
Desiree Koh: Proud dad.
Desiree Koh: A spiced rice pudding for dessert with raisins and bits of pistachio and almond. I liked it fine, was just glad and relieved that fried ball in syrup thing wasn't served. I love that, but it blows diets away like a Scud Missile dropped on Sentosa.
Desiree Koh: Dorky Chris was pleased we were at table 21, her jersey number.
Desiree Koh: So, after this really filling lunch, we were at Old Town next door wondering what to get for dinner... but left with coffees and teas instead. And a chicken rendang.
Desiree Koh: Just two days later, we gathered for a BBQ feast worth $200 at Aiwei and Zully's condo at The Sail.
Desiree Koh: The Zaj shows she has grown up by eating some sayoh lodeh (mildly spicy veggie curry).
Desiree Koh: Zully slices up some grill.
Desiree Koh: Otah! (Fish cake in banana leaves.)
Desiree Koh: Javier's first ever swim!
Desiree Koh: Satay and wings. Most of these wings would finish the evening in my stomach.
Desiree Koh: The dawgs, regular and cheese.
Desiree Koh: Red hots.
Desiree Koh: Cheese dawgs and chicken satay, I can't think of a better proposition.
Desiree Koh: Sambal sting ray, sambal squid, fake crab, peanut sauce, sweet corn, yams, fried vermicelli, sayoh lodeh, wings, beef satay, chicken satay, ketupat (rice cakes to go with the satay)...
Desiree Koh: In the condo unit, Seventh Heaven ice cream with giant slabs of brownies.
Desiree Koh: Digging in the pints - whiskey chocolate, black forest, lychee martini and butter pecan scotch.
Desiree Koh: The ice cream chefs.
Desiree Koh: I like my ice cream a little melted, somewhere in the paradise between ice cream and milkshake.
Desiree Koh: Giant slabs of brownies from Chocz. They're not the best, but they were three for $5. LZBs, I know you are worth a lot more than that!
Desiree Koh: Master of the house.
