February 26, 2009. Post-tennis dinner at the vaunted Old Airport Road Hawker Center. We all Whitley Road Big Prawn Noodle Soup.
Desiree Koh:
My $4 bowl of prawn rice noodle soup, which was very tasty, although I was wary of the oil in the soup and the generous heap of fried shallots (since I am tri-ing hard). Damn.
Desiree Koh:
It's not easy to navigate a bowl full of medium-sized prawns, with heads on, and yet eat daintily. Elaine did.
Desiree Koh:
That's table etiquette for you.
Desiree Koh:
With teeth and chopsticks, she cleaned out the prawn meat neatly from each half shell.
Desiree Koh:
Like so.

Pong's bar-be-qued chicken wings. I wish I could've had some.

March 5, 2009. Skinny Pizza -- the best thin crust pizza I've ever eaten in Singapore. Really.
Desiree Koh:
The recommended French cider to complement the pizza. It was tasty, but went down a bit too quickly. Oops.
Desiree Koh:
Truffle fries -- heavenly, wish I wasn't on a diet.
Desiree Koh:
A small fry crumb for me.
Desiree Koh:
The Zaj had nothing but praises for the creamed portobello soup.

Skinny Chris at Skinny Pizza.
Desiree Koh:
The first pizza was this salami and pesto number. So. Good.
Desiree Koh:
I was good and removed the salami. Check out the freshly shaved parmesan.
Desiree Koh:
Paper-thin crust, crispy.
Desiree Koh:
Pizza serial killer.
Desiree Koh:
Wild truffled mushroom pizza -- another amazing creation.
Desiree Koh:
Notice how the generous pile of arugula spills over everywhere.
Desiree Koh:
The seafood pizza took the pie. Made with squid ink, the crust was a tasty black and the pizza piled with fresh shrimp and calamari, topped off with mango salsa.
Desiree Koh:
Please open an outlet in Katong. NOW!!!

March 6, 2009. Coffee spare ribs, done to perfection when a juicy thin layer of flavored fat gives way to succulent meat.
