Expat Bostonians: Ellie got a Happy Birthday button to wear at check-in. As we walked around the hotel and the park everyone made a point of wishing her a Happy Birthday. I know she felt really special.
Expat Bostonians: A chandelier in our hotel. There are glass slipper accents if you look closely.
Expat Bostonians: We upgraded our hotel room to include Happy Birthday accents. This is our room's door.
Expat Bostonians: Ellie playing with her balloons.
Expat Bostonians: The special spread on the end of the bed.
Expat Bostonians: Special window decorations. Not pictured-the tin of cookies and a birthday cake made of towels and pipe cleaners (because Ellie totally demolished it in trying to figure out what it was.
Expat Bostonians: Decoration from our bathroom mirror. Snow White at the top, the dwarves around the sides and bottom.
Expat Bostonians: The girls check out the closet. (As a nice touch, there was a child's bathroom and child-sized slippers along with the adult ones)
Expat Bostonians: The special note on the phone. There was also a voicemail from stitch-who might be harder to understand than Donald. Also-Ellie hasn't seen Lilo & Stitch, and wandered away while we were playing it. Also-Ellie was totally confused by this landline phon
Expat Bostonians: Ellie and Ravi by the Donald in the window of the hotel gift shop.
Expat Bostonians: Ravi, Ellie and Rhi by the sign over by the hotel shuttle drop-off point. This was when Ellie really began to understand that more than a cool hotel room was going on. We'd told her we were going over to the park, but she had no idea what we meant.
Expat Bostonians: 6pm on a Friday--plenty of people streaming into the park for the Halloween special event.
Expat Bostonians: One of Ellie's favorite parts, and we're not even through the entry gate yet They choreograph the water and colors and such to music. We could've sat here all night and Ellie would've been happy.
Expat Bostonians: In honor of the whole Halloween thing, there was this whole "Vampires versus Werewolves" thing going on. You could download a smartphone app, and stop at things around the park, picking your side. These are the wolves--they look like cats and meow.
