CrimsonGuitars.com: The fate of sub-standard guitars.. These were made years ago and just don't cut it.. Burn baby burn!!
CrimsonGuitars.com: All done, still tempted to buff it up some more but this matt finish isn't looking half bad.. Good night all!!
CrimsonGuitars.com: Not quite right.. Got to go up another grit on the wet and dry paper..
CrimsonGuitars.com: After rubbing the whole muse guitar down some polish is applied to the top
CrimsonGuitars.com: More of the same.. Though this guitar obviously has a solid finish on the back and neck..
CrimsonGuitars.com: Before then the Muse Descendant also needs to be rubbed down.. We want a matt finish on this one.
CrimsonGuitars.com: The backplates are the final bits to be rubbed down.. there are still bits where we need to spot apply more lacquer..
CrimsonGuitars.com: Nearly there.. The multi, multi laminate neck is very pretty..
CrimsonGuitars.com: The new headstock design.. My favourite so far!
CrimsonGuitars.com: No power tools here, the lacquer is rubbed down gently and we see if this one is ready for final buffing..
CrimsonGuitars.com: Back with a load of lovely timber from Yandles and back in the workshop.. mike's slim is on the bench now..
CrimsonGuitars.com: The start of my day and we're off to buy some wood! Yay!
CrimsonGuitars.com: :) and she is complete.. I must say I get lost in the possibilities of MIDI.. Much fun! Good night!
CrimsonGuitars.com: The control knobs etc are fitted and the action and intonation set
CrimsonGuitars.com: They're installed and it's time to test and set up the MIDI
CrimsonGuitars.com: After a good buffing the plates are shiny and ready to go in..
CrimsonGuitars.com: The paf blackburst is in need of backplates now, these are rubbed down to 1500 grit..
CrimsonGuitars.com: Finally the gk MIDI system is wired in
CrimsonGuitars.com: The magnetic side of this guitar is wired in and tested.. Sounding very very good!
CrimsonGuitars.com: The wixard 4x4 pickups are wired in.. At least the wiring loom is installed..
CrimsonGuitars.com: It seems that my children have decided we're in a different time zone.. Bed time is currently around 3am..
CrimsonGuitars.com: The variax componants are all installed and wired in.. Nightmare!
CrimsonGuitars.com: Now.. A couple of gapeing control cavities in need of a complex routing of wires and the odd pcb.. Mmm
CrimsonGuitars.com: A bit of a set up on the paf blackburst
CrimsonGuitars.com: Gypsy uses jasper as a cushion.. What abuse!!
CrimsonGuitars.com: Now, I really need to get some work done so we're on to the paf blackburst..
CrimsonGuitars.com: And all this change was brought about by trying to fit in an enormous new, time-saving, drum sander!
CrimsonGuitars.com: The old machine room has been split in two and half is now a timber store.. The rest will be office space.. Eventually!
CrimsonGuitars.com: My benches haven't changed much, though it's nice that they're not covered in detritus from elsewhere!
CrimsonGuitars.com: After a few weeks of illness and an almost complete lack of progress the main part of the workshop is ready for use..
