CrimsonGuitars.com: Now, the entire workshop is in a right state so I'm taking some time to tidy up and reorganise, I can't work like this!
CrimsonGuitars.com: Robert Fripp having a go with our 8 string Scorpion model.. 'the perfect touch guitar' ..I quote!
CrimsonGuitars.com: Robert Fripp playing with his toys, our Crimson guitars Robert Fripp signature guitar and some Roland kit
CrimsonGuitars.com: more of Robert Fripp letting loose with his signature Crimson Guitar
CrimsonGuitars.com: Robert Fripp enjoying a revibrated Crimson Robert Fripp Signature Hollowbody guitar..
CrimsonGuitars.com: The body looks great too, after a bit of chiseling where the router bit couldn't go.. Can't wait to get carving!
CrimsonGuitars.com: The headstock is a different story, her binding channel is cut on this makeshift baby table router with a bearing cutter
CrimsonGuitars.com: I take five or six passes and gradually cut the binding channel in to the guitars top.. Very carefully with that cutter!
CrimsonGuitars.com: The pin router is set-up..
CrimsonGuitars.com: Finally the bulk of the routing is complete on this one, I do like the new control cavity, it's worked out very well!
CrimsonGuitars.com: The bobbin sander is used to perform most of the work of shaping the new template..
CrimsonGuitars.com: I now neeed to make a new template for the cover of the main control cavity..
CrimsonGuitars.com: A start is made on the recessed backplates..
CrimsonGuitars.com: The spring cavity for the tremolo is routed now..
CrimsonGuitars.com: After a good tidy up of my workspace it's back to the fun stuff.. Mike's slim needs more routing..
CrimsonGuitars.com: Ben bennets chimera hollow has a final check of her setup as well while I'm in this mode..
CrimsonGuitars.com: Ready to go.. Poor dogs never stop hounding me to kick that ball!!
CrimsonGuitars.com: I'll be introducing robert to the scorpion eight string as well so she needs a bit of a setup..
CrimsonGuitars.com: Preperatory to a visit with robert fripp tomorrow at dgm I have some wiring to try out.. Fingers crossed!
CrimsonGuitars.com: And I end the day after glueing the mother of pearl split diamond inlays into the ebony fretboard.. Gnight!
CrimsonGuitars.com: Finally everything fits..
CrimsonGuitars.com: Now the inlays are ready to go in, some fine adjustment for each one but it's coming together!
CrimsonGuitars.com: Back to last weeks inlays, the small end ones still need their recessed tidied up..
CrimsonGuitars.com: A little setup and this guitar is off the to do list.. Thus giving me the illusion of steady progress.. onwards..
CrimsonGuitars.com: The neck is buffed up to a high gloss and the maskng stripped away..
CrimsonGuitars.com: We do most of the rubbing down with masking in place to keep the water out of the works..
CrimsonGuitars.com: To try and keep the hard-won set up the whole jobs been done while she is strung up.. Novel, but not a problem!
CrimsonGuitars.com: Some admin out the way, now on to work.. This chimera's had her neck reshaped again and the finish's cured..
CrimsonGuitars.com: Most of the cavities have been tidied up with a scalpel and several sharp chisels.. Have a good night all!
CrimsonGuitars.com: I love my little mini router.. Here I use her to rout out the waste from the inlay cavities..
