Waiting for the airport transfer to Taksim, town centre of #istanbul #turkey. It took a long time to clear custom. The queue to clear immigration was very long. Seems like 4 or 5 load of huge planes landed at the same time. By the time I cleared immigrati

Bought these from the shops along the street I passed by earlier. It's damn cheap! Going to have fruit therapy here for the next 2 weeks.

Time for dinner. My eyes is shutting but I have to stay awake. Have to adjust to the clock here. Dinner alfresco style. It's quite cool as night sets in.

After a long walk, I decided to hop into a dessert shop to try the baklava. I think I deserve some calories since I have burnt quite a lot this afternoon from the walk. Am beginning to feel the effect of not snuff sleep during the flight here this morning

One of the many mosque in Istanbul. It's at every corner of the street. But this one is quite huge. Will come back here to take a closer look later.

I order this pita cost 2.5 lira and drinks another 2 lira. Total lunch cost about sgd2.5!!!

Was waking around the neighbourhood and found this corner kebab shop so I decided to have my first meal here. It looks like a shop where the locals would go.

It's a very small museum/formerly a church It was restored in recent years. The exterior is still undergoing some restoration work

The #istanbul people proved themselves to be very helpful. Was guided by a hotel concierge on direction to Kariye Museum (Chora Church). Then another old lady walk with me to this tunnel to show me where to take the bus. I am humbled by their helpfulness.
