cpearl: Goodbye, old work laptop! I'll miss my old stickers but I'll have my memories...
cpearl: Local deer
cpearl: Saw this idea on the internet....made a basket of goodies for all the people who deliver our packages and mail.
cpearl: I took a "virtual" chocolate tasting class. They sent us the chocolates beforehand, and the chocolatier talked us through them. Yummmm
cpearl: I also did a virtual class on how to paint your pet's portrait. First, you mail in a photo of your pet, and they send you a pencil sketch.
cpearl: Next you paint the background, then start on the pet....
cpearl: I have to say it was challenging because the instructor could not see our paintings, since it was a big class and virtual! Also I was told it was a 1-hour class but it was actually two hours so uhhh I had to rush a bit. Not gonna quit my day job...
cpearl: Free concert with two of my all-time favorite singer/songwriters, Jill Sobule and Dar Williams! I've seen them both live before
cpearl: Our friend Margaret needed a new part for her yarn winder, so she commissioned Chris to design/print one with his 3D printer....
cpearl: ...and in return she made him mince pies! (Plus butter tarts for me though I did none of the work)
cpearl: Book club happy hour. We did SEVEN books this year, a record.
cpearl: Jack is on a Dragonriders of Pern kick
cpearl: Why does Jack always beat us at this game??
cpearl: My grandmother on her 107th birthday, loving her flowers. She passed away less than two weeks later. So sad I didn't get to see her this year because of COVID.
cpearl: The item on the left belonged to my grandmother, and the one on the right was a dish my aunt made. Chris printed a stand for it with his 3D printer.
cpearl: Lovely day for a beach picnic at Seacliff Beach in Aptos
cpearl: Shipwreck! The SS Palo Alto, which was built for WWI but didn't see any action.
cpearl: Grelfie at Seacliff Beach
cpearl: Jack and Chris
cpearl: A hike in the Forest of Nisene Marks State Park
cpearl: Redwood stump
cpearl: Jack managed to cross without getting his feet wet
cpearl: An actual phone booth in the middle of nowhere? What you can't see: I'm wearing my new heated vest!! So warm.
cpearl: A bike ride to the dam at Crystal Springs
cpearl: We made it to the dam
cpearl: On the way back we saw a huge flock of turkeys, with a giant tom
cpearl: After three days, Chris solved one of the (alleged) World's Hardest Sudoku puzzles!
cpearl: I made my mother-in-law's recipe for "cherry slice". It has a pie crust base, then the mixture on top is butter/sugar/self-rising flour/currants/candied cherries/eggs.
cpearl: The cherry slice! I thought it came out a bit dense, but Chris said it was tasty so I'll call it a win.
