Apparently Chillan, Chile, is wrecked every decade or so by earthquakes. No drama while we were there.

Ahhhhh. Overlanding moment: a tiny town in rural Argentina was hosting the 6th Annual Fiesta de Asado. Spent three hours feasting, listening to live gaucho music and buying knives, gaucho beret and sash.

Spotted three of these Brazilian Trollers on their way to Ushuaia. Fiberglass body, 3L turbo Diesel engine. Dana axles and Eaton transmission.

Jonathan Hanson has now found and consumed Froot Loops on four continents. Expedition Froot Loops is well on its way to a Guiness record. Only three more to go.

Aussies Jake and Alana are starting a six-month South America overland journey. They flew to Santiago and bought a 2007 4Runner for $12K. They will be able to sell it for not much less than that. A great budget alternative.
