Château de Chambord - The double helix staircase. Two people can go up each staircase and never meet each other.

Château de Chambord - spiral staircase were added by one of the kings so he could get to his room and the chapel without encountering others. You can see at the top of this one that the carvings were never completed on this one.

Château de Chambord - These heaters were added by one of the kings because the castle was so cold. Even on our visit it was almost 60 outside but about 45 in the castle.

Château de Chambord - these apartments were modified by Louis XIV, hence they are more "modern" then the rest of the castle.
