Can you spot the Russian Sputnik Satellite model on top of the historic Mockba cafe in Berlin? It was a gift of the Soviet ambassador in 1964. Typical socialistic architecture which reminds me I have tons of photos to edit from Russia. Oh well.

Berlin is the most heavily gas-lit city in the world with more than 43000 lamps dating back to 1890s! They shed an unusually warm, soft and atmospheric light. Amazing how all these historic and elegant lamps survived bombing!

The whole Potsdamer Platz was the setting for "Wings of Desire" but the square no longer bears any resemblance to the wasteland in Wim Wender's masterpiece.The only thing remaining is the State Library building and the Subway System typeface.
