Downey Creek Trailhead
Martin Bravenboer:
First Trillium we see this year! We saw only about four along the trail, so it's still a bit early.

Tricky area 1: This blowdown section was not particularly dangerous, but it does require crawling under a tree, which was a bit tricky with Jake in my backpack

Tricky area 2: This section was a bit more difficult. You can go over the tree, but you will need very long legs (and certainly no belly ;) ). On the way in I went over the tree, but on the road back I preferred walking above the roots.
Martin Bravenboer:
View of tricky area 2: This area will need some significant work to be easy to pass again.
Martin Bravenboer:
Tricky section 3: This was not too hard. You can just climb up and pass above the roots.

Sweet Coltsfoot - Perhaps not a very remarkable plant, but I was impressed by their super early appearance (nothing else is blooming yet, and both the stem as well as the flower is fairly big)
