babababarandon:
Before the bike was powder coated and went on tour I had some frame mods done to ease dynamo routing and then later I eventually got around to wiring it up. The mods were not planned to the minute detail, just kinda quick and dirty.
babababarandon:
3mm OD - Mogami w2330 Coax (microphone) cable is the main cabling I used. Its used between hub and fork crown, between the under forkcrown junction and the rear fender(through the DT)
babababarandon:
I put in a QR in the cabling using 2mm bullet connectors. Regular spade terminals are used on the hub.
babababarandon:
Patch using 2 spade connectors, 2 bullet connectors and two short strands of 24AWG cable.
babababarandon:
Coax comes up from the hub to the canti stud where it meets the twin-ax cable from the headlight. The twinax cable from the headlight also sends(via coax) ground 'n hot wire to the fork crown junction(later to the taillight).
babababarandon:
Cable up from hub and behind it the cable up to fender(taillight)
babababarandon:
Exchange between headlight, hub and taillight. It is a little bulky but is still out of the way of the tire. If we had planned the frame mods better this could have been cleanup up a bit.
babababarandon:
Taillight cable unplugged
babababarandon:
Detail on twin-ax routing and alu guides. 5 or 6mm ID guide on the far left and the rest are 3mm ID. Held in place with marine adhesive. Zipties helped to hold the guides while the adhesive dried in trickier spots.
babababarandon:
Under shrink wrap is the plug between the cable and the light.

babababarandon:
Going back from the headlight, glimpse of the junction under the fork crown.
babababarandon:
getting that hole in the fender was extremely tricky! Don't ask me how I did it because I wouldn't recommend my way... check out that crack. :)
babababarandon:
You can't have to many QR junctions. This one allows the cable which runs through the DT to be released.
babababarandon:
Wrapped the coax around an alan wrench and heated it up with a lighter, cooled, heated, repeat. The little patch of shrink wrap is there since I overheated a melted a portion of the cable.
babababarandon:
Cable enters DT via waterbottle cage boss
babababarandon:
Cable exits DT at the back of the BB shell and enters the fender under the bridge.
babababarandon:
Too lazy to cut that bolt.
babababarandon:
Coax enters fender.
babababarandon:
Coax enters fender and splits. Grounded with a ring term where the fender bolts to the bridge. Hot wire enters fenders rolled edge via 24WG wire(bullet connector again)...
babababarandon:
Last junction.
babababarandon:
24AWG wire exits fenders edge and connects with a bullet to the hot wire passing through the back of the taillight into the fender. The little extra plastic bit in the drilled hole is the taillights 2nd mounting reinforcment(1st being the bolt). The taill
babababarandon:
The taillight glued up fairly well.

Upgraded wheelset for the tourer.
