AHTravels: Folks love Da Bulls at San Fermin. I suppose it was a good fit...
AHTravels: Parade of gigantes y cabezudos (giants and big-heads). Four pairs of kings and queens (over 150 years old) of four different races and places (Europe, Asia, America and Africa) are represented.
AHTravels: The mess on opening day of the festival. This is the day that locals celebrate, alongside tourists from all over the world, and it fell on a Saturday for the first time in years, so....
AHTravels: Pamplona City Hall square. This is where the "Chupinazo" takes place, marking the opening of the festival. It also is part of the daily bull run course and is the location where most film coverage of the bull run is taken.
AHTravels: People sleep in any green space they can find... Sometimes involuntarily...
AHTravels: You grab a seat wherever you can find it...
AHTravels: Behind me is the entry door to the bull ring. Little did I know, less than 48 hours later I'd be running for my life through that door with a group of Aussies who were my new best friends in life.
AHTravels: There was a lot of protest graffiti in northern Spain. My friends kissing the "feminism" sign in my honor... Thanks guys! :)
AHTravels: We found a half-full bottle of wine randomly sitting in the middle of a plaza. What a waste of good wine... (No, we did not drink it...)
AHTravels: Getting around during the festival was... Interesting...
