siamesexoxo: Give your pumpkin a shower, he'll love it!
siamesexoxo: See! ;)
siamesexoxo: Now it's time to CUT! Make a circle around the stem as you would for a Jack-O-lantern then cut down 4 lines from stem to butt (ouch) "quartering" the pumpkin.
siamesexoxo: Remove one "quarter" chunk, see how easy it is to remove the guts?!
siamesexoxo: Now scrape off all the slimy pumpkin guts! A large metal spoon works great for this.
siamesexoxo: Place chunks in low baking pans with an inch of water at 425 degrees until tender.
siamesexoxo: Allow to cool for 15 minutes then peel the Orange rind/skin off. I use a knife if the skin is tougher but sometimes may only require you to peel off with your fingers.
siamesexoxo: Here the chunks of pumpkin is in a bowl ready to process and the seeds are in a pan awaiting toasting!
siamesexoxo: Here you see remaining pumpkin chunks in the green bowl, and processed pumpkin purée in my processor, then finished purée in the clear bowl.
siamesexoxo: I may not be Martha so in so but that pumpkin purée looks gorgeous! And it will also keep in the freezer for 6 months. *Toasted pumpkin seeds are a tasty reward for all the hard work because we still need TO MAKE THE PIE! 😆
