Charlie679: Second carousel: New England Carousel Museum in Bristol, CT
Charlie679: There is a tour guide who explains what each type of horse posture is called, as well as who carved them.
Charlie679: The plain side (on the right) is the Apprentice side. No fancy carving required.
Charlie679: The black horse is a leaping stargazer because he's looking up.
Charlie679: The elaborately carved side, which faces out, is called the Romance Side. The master carver works on this side.
