SewLibra: For my 80s look I cut up a long sleeved tee and found whatever I could for this look! The bangle bracelets and rhinestone necklace are actually are from the 80s
SewLibra: Here we are at Virginia's 50th birthday 80s themed party. What a sight!
SewLibra: Lol. That bra worked out well. I'm surprised he went along with it!
SewLibra: I replaced the band with an exposed 2" black elastic. Looks and feels much better, nice and smooth.
SewLibra: I have these RTW velour sweatpants with a bulky elastic in casing waist. I didn't find it comfortable and there was lump under my top from the bulk. I cut the band off.
SewLibra: Family is having a 70s themed party and not much notice! I have some denim in my stash so making some "fake" bell bottoms for existing jeans. Made a pattern but decided to cut wider for drama. Lol.
SewLibra: Bell bottoms constructed, serged and pressed. The upper part was measured for the jeans that I will be attaching them to.
SewLibra: My regular jeans are going to stay inside the bell bottoms so after the party I can remove them and have my jeans back!
SewLibra: I pinned the bell bottoms on my jeans being careful to not go through the other layer.
SewLibra: With my hand inside, going down from the waist, I hand sewed the bell bottoms on. After the party tomorrow I'll post some pics of the whole costume. Wish I had more time!
SewLibra: Groovy chick ready for the 70s party. Far out flower power! I made the bohemian blouse two years ago and the choker is from the 70s. An art student at Fort Hays State University made it for me circa 1972.
SewLibra: Getting ready for the 70s party for Christina's birthday. November 14, 2021.
