SewLibra: Kwik Sew 3880. The cold shoulder look, as they call it. LOL.
SewLibra: I used 1" Pellon Knit-N-Stable tape for the sleeve hems and bottom hem. It has lots of stretch and perfect for hems.
SewLibra: For the neckline, shoulder seams and shoulder opening edges I used Design Plus fusible bias tape. It is not a stretchy product.
SewLibra: I chose to use my preferred neck binding method rather than the pattern instructions. Sarah Veblen has a video. In addition I use an edge foot and topstich on the outside to anchor the seam down.
SewLibra: After sewing on your band and before topstitching, press it using steam, shape it with your hands, and let it dry.
SewLibra: Finished neck binding. I like a wider binding so I usually cut the strips 1 3/4" wide.
SewLibra: The fusible bias tape, here on the sleeve openings, is 3/8" wide. I just folded under right at the edge of the tape and pressed. Easy!
SewLibra: After pressing the edges under, fold it back out at the shoulder seam. Sew the seam then fold back under and press. That makes a nice clean finish all around and covers the shoulder seams at the edges.
SewLibra: All done!
SewLibra: Side view. Even though the sleeves are large, you can't see my bra when my arm is straight out.
SewLibra: I matched the stripes on the side seams and sewed with a walking foot to keep them in place.
