SewLibra: I made a basic muslin. (...this time).
SewLibra: I lengthened the peplum by 1.5" this way, so the top and bottom stayed the same circumference as the original pattern piece.
SewLibra: This pattern does not have lining instructions, so I tried a "line and underline at the same time" techinique I saw in "Threads". Four layers and slippy-slidey. but I only had to use a walking foot on one part of this project.
SewLibra: View of bodice with encased seams.
SewLibra: Encased inside seams with the "Thread Magazine" underlining technique.
SewLibra: After topstitching underlining with the "Threads Magazine" technique.
SewLibra: Serging a sleeve. I wrote SF for "sleeve front" to avoid confusion. Love my sticky dots for marking wrong side of fabric, too.
SewLibra: Not sure what my point was for this sleeve pic, but I did have to baste the lining around the edge of the sleeves and bodice before sewing them together. So many slippery layers!
SewLibra: Inside sleeves after serging.
SewLibra: This is how it looks already lined before attaching sleeves.
SewLibra: Raglan sleeves go in so easy, as far as set-in sleeves go. I still prefer the "flat" method, but could not be done on this.
SewLibra: Making bias tape from lining fabric for armscye and peplum seams.
SewLibra: Inside of finished jacket, with bias binding made from lining fabric.
SewLibra: Front. Dumb Debbie always looks better in my clothes. Did she lose weight or is it that I...oh, never mind.
