scottarvin: I took several shots along the road on our way back to the airport so I could show the kids some scenery

scottarvin: Just a house along the road
scottarvin: This area was near La Selva which is just down the road from Savegre
scottarvin: Looking toward our room. We were the door on the left
scottarvin: Tiger Longwing butterfly (I'm guessing)
scottarvin: The Sarapiqui river near our lodge
scottarvin: Arboreal termites were plentiful.
scottarvin: This was the view from the suspension bridge at Selva Verde. It's a good place to watch for raptors.
scottarvin: Looking toward the primary rainforest side on the bridge
scottarvin: Looking toward the secondary rainforest side where the lodge is at Selva Verde
scottarvin: Looking upriver on the bridge. The dot was a vulture flying over.
scottarvin: Looking downriver. If you went around the bend you would find the lodge area where we sat and watched for flyovers.
scottarvin: Another butterfly. It looks like a yellow sulphur but it could be some Costa Rican variant.
scottarvin: This rather large moth was on the screen to the dining area at Selva Verde
scottarvin: Here's the view across the road from Selva Verde. It's a nice place to pick up seedeaters, and euphonias.
scottarvin: Palm tanager hanging around in front of the lodge.
scottarvin: I think this is a young basilisk. Lizards were plentiful around the lodge.
scottarvin: Golden Silk Spider. There were many under the walkways at Selva Verde. They're quite large.

scottarvin: This looks like an activity area. We never saw it in use.
scottarvin: This is just a shot of the grounds around our room after the rain at Selva Verde
scottarvin: Rain in Selva Verde. This was a longer exposure that I took by resting my camera on the railing outside our room
scottarvin: Green and black poison arrow frogs weren't as common as the blue jeans frog but they were still fairly easy to find if you know where to look
scottarvin: Here's the gate to the suspension bridge over the river
scottarvin: This is the walkway leading from the dining area down to the river at Selva Verde. The montezuma oropendolas would fly down to eat the bananas on the trees
scottarvin: This bare throated tiger heron stayed here for a long time and didn't seem to mind us snapping shots from across the river at Selva Verde
