AG Martin: Carbondale to Steamboat Springs via the Flat Tops Wilderness Area
AG Martin: Colorado River Road just North of Dotsero, and Heading North
AG Martin: On the Colorado River Road looking down at the Colorado River
AG Martin: North East side of the Flat Tops. There is an un-named high point (not really a pass) about 2 miles up the double track road. 9 miles of private ranch property, and not a single car.
AG Martin: Very tough, steep and rocky uphill. I think the elevation gain was appx 3k feet, and maybe averaged 8% grade at the least with some steeper sections. On the limit of my 18 inch gearing.

AG Martin: Carbondale to Steamboat Springs via the Flat Tops Wilderness Area
AG Martin: Double track and a little rough for my 32mm road touring tires.
AG Martin: After the top headed North... absolutely beautiful ranch and hay farming area
AG Martin: Appx 10 miles South of Steamboat near Catamount.
AG Martin: This is actually part of the GDMBR trail at Stage Coach State Park.
AG Martin: On the way back ...Only kind of busy road, Hwy 134, but not bad at all. Looking towards the un-named highpoint, now to the west near the Flat Tops, west / south west of Toponas
AG Martin: Headed back home... Sopris (right, sits just above Carbondale) and Capital Peak (left, pointy), one of the most dangerous peaks in Colorado, in the distance. Miles of downhill to go.
