56031 passing a variety of DMUs outside Doncaster works, 12th August 1979. In the background of this Kodak Instamatic shot (just above the first three hopper wagons) can just be discerned Deltic 55012 CREPELLO and to her right, 71009 & 71014.

The sight of 56063 at Gateshead was quite rare at the time, before the shed got its own allocation of 56s. It was possibly here for crew training. Also visible are more usual residents in the shape of classes 08, 37, 45 and 47
