aytee111: The whole of the Gorge is made up of these vertical patterns, caused from volcanos (I think) - a geologist's paradise
aytee111: Along one road they had kindly put up signs - peppermint, beans, hay, etc. For once I could be intelligent about the fields!
aytee111: Heading towards the Columbia River Gorge

aytee111: I was surprised to see this barge on the Columbia River, I thought it was only the Mississippi
aytee111: If you look closely you can see snow-covered Mt Hood in the background
aytee111: Again, you have to look closely and you will see sails in the air!
aytee111: Taking advantage of the constant wind up the Columbia River - photo taken from Washington looking into Oregon!
