ck122: Trucks and buses are not allowed to cross the Friendship Bridge so cargo is unloaded and goods are carried by head-strap, up hill across the bridge and through immigration ( I am guessing almost 1 mile)

ck122: The buildings were constructed directly into the steep mountainside. At one point I heard rushing water and I found this spot with a waterfall gushing right between the buildings.
ck122: All of the vehicles in town belonged either to our group or a group of 80 Indians on pilgrimage to Kailash.
ck122: A very few minutes out of town we were stopped for a construction delay... for seven hours

ck122: These were the mountains we could see before dark. Because of the delay, we did not get to our hostel in Tingri until 1:00 AM. Brrrr... it was so cold
