Carls Railway Photography: Overnight on the 16th January 2016 saw the first proper snow falling in Ashby De La Zouch. Here is a view of Hastings Tower at the ruins of Ashby Castle. You can climb the 98 steps to view the town & beyond. Well worth doing especially on a sunny day.
Carls Railway Photography: Sunrise on the bath grounds at Ashby De La Zouch the day after a “light” snow fall. The Leicester to Burton Railway is to the right through the line of trees. 30 years ago you could photograph a class 56 or 58 on an mgr just to the left of said trees.

Carls Railway Photography: During a walk on a glorious morning in my home town of Ashby De La Zouch I captured the ruins of Ashby castle with the Hastings tower standing proudly in the centre. You used to be able to climb to the top giving unbelievable views of the town.
Carls Railway Photography: Ashby De La Zouch Railway station, 30th September 2018. Tram lines for the long closed Burton and Ashby Light Railway are still visible on the forecourt. The station opened on August 1st 1849 & closed 7th September 1964.

Carls Railway Photography: December 2nd 2018. Most people walk their dog on a Sunday morning. Here in Ashby they walk their miniature ponies. It was the food & Christmas fair in Ashby De La Zouch & the ponies entertained the local children.

Carls Railway Photography: Some people will park anywhere!! Drink & drive & this is the result. 19 yr old with a car full & miraculously not one scratch. 04:30 Sunday morning. Nice early wake up. Missed two cars neatly slotting between them & a wall at 50mph in a 30 zone!!
