NowIfly:
After leaving the trail, and about a 900 ft (vert) of brush bashing, the country opens up
NowIfly:
I could see from the map that there was a a tarn at 5,900 ft. I really hoped it wasn't dry. It was not!
NowIfly:
It was magical country, and I briefly thought of stopping there at the first tarn, but knew that would make the following day even longer, so I continued along my way.
NowIfly:
It turned out there was ample water available for the length the ridge, but some was clearer than others and I spent a lot of time filtering water.
NowIfly:
There are many ups and downs along Stetattle Ridge. 'Mis-kai-whu' (North Stetattle Peak), shown here on the right, is its highpoint, at 6'700 feet.
NowIfly:
Mount Baker and Shukun come into view from Mis-kai-whu. Elephnt Butte center, Luna on the left.
NowIfly:
Looking NW along the ridge to Point 6,103, where I would turn around and head back to camp. I had lofty ideas of climbing Elephant Butte, on the left, and had not giving up hope at this point.
NowIfly:
Second nights camp. I moved farther down the ridge, from the night before. I knew there was cell coverage, so I could check in with home. :-)
NowIfly:
This camp had wicked mosquitoes, and the app said it was 92 degrees at Snoqualmie pass. Great views but really no fun at all. At least I did have some fine bourbon. :-)
