Tulip tree leaf on the sidewalk. Today I spent the afternoon writing about what the fall garden has been teaching me about the process of letting go.

'Buttercream' California poppies and chamomile in bloom.
yougrowgirl:
I should pull out the orange California poppies to preserve the 'Buttercream' variety, but I never seem to have the heart. I like all of them.

Another from my garden in 2014, featuring one of the biggest purple plantains I have ever grown (they were all huge that year) on the edge of the #drybed / #cactusgarden that could really use a better name.

And the realization that I need some solitude. Need to put my head down and get work done. I leave you for now with a photo of the #drybed #hardycactus portion of my garden last summer.

Other than a few little hand sewn touchups, I am finally finished this #quilt. All used fabrics: silk, my old jeans, my old corduroy pants, velvet, wool. Sketched a design; cut the fabric freehand with a giant pair of scissors; machine stitched the pieces
yougrowgirl:
I've made more seating areas in the garden this year. We'll see how much I actually use them.
