don.bottaro:
Having left Marseilles les Aubigny in the morning and passed Cours les Barres, and the smaller villages of les Mahauts, Laubray, la Presle and (larger) Cuffy, we approach le Guetin, near the confluence of the Rivers Loire and L'Allier.
don.bottaro:
Just passed under the Pont des Caillettes, looking toward le Guetin
don.bottaro:
Cyclists make as much use of the old tow path as fisherman.
don.bottaro:
After arriving at le Guetin, we view the second pont du canal of our trip, which crosses L'Allier.
don.bottaro:
L'Allier, from the Pont du Canal in Guetin
don.bottaro:
The nearby bridge over L' Allier is for cars, not boats.
don.bottaro:
view of the Augerge du Pont Canal in Guetin, an Inn with a well-respected restaurant.

At Guetin
don.bottaro:
The double lock at le Guetin raises barges 9.2 meters (30 ft) to enable crossing the Pont du Canal
don.bottaro:
View of Ile de France at her anchorage just north of the double lock in le Guetin
don.bottaro:
The upper lock at le Guetin filled
don.bottaro:
The lower lock of le Guetin, empty
don.bottaro:
Don by the empty lower lock; the 15 ft water mark from the full lock shows on the wall; Ile de France, our barge, in the background.
don.bottaro:
Chris beside the empty lower lock (21) with our anchorage behind.
don.bottaro:
The huge doors between the upper and lower locks (22 & 23) at le Guetin.

The Auberge in le Guetin
don.bottaro:
Ile de France anchored at the marina just north of the double locks.
don.bottaro:
Looking south from the anchorage
don.bottaro:
Well moored for the evening.
don.bottaro:
Our flowers are still holding up!
don.bottaro:
Chris captures the barge interior....and a bit of herself.
don.bottaro:
Long mooring lines make for a more comfortable motion when fellow cruisers pass. The coach roof steering station on the DUO is just aft the small dashboard amidships.
