nogrodsmithy:
Making some risers for the chick waterers.
nogrodsmithy:
Rings cut from 1/2" plywood
nogrodsmithy:
The ring will be attached to the base.
nogrodsmithy:
The rings were cut using a 5" hole-saw inside a 6" hole-saw. The 5" saw is mounted on an "Oops arbor". It will simply act as a guide.
nogrodsmithy:
A better view of the hole-saws, one inside the other.
nogrodsmithy:
My drill station.
nogrodsmithy:
The ring glued and tacked to the base.
nogrodsmithy:
An air nailer makes working on thin material much easier.
nogrodsmithy:
This is how a waterer base will sit/fit.
nogrodsmithy:
This is how a feeder base will fit.
nogrodsmithy:
First coat of paint on the bases.
nogrodsmithy:
Chicklets came today!
nogrodsmithy:
Lil' fluff balls
nogrodsmithy:
18 chirping little "Cinnamon Queen" chicks arrived today.
nogrodsmithy:
Getting a drink.
nogrodsmithy:
She doesn't look happy being held.
nogrodsmithy:
Peep. Peep. Peep.
nogrodsmithy:
Wing feathers are coming in.
nogrodsmithy:
Keeping warm.
nogrodsmithy:
Chicklets
nogrodsmithy:
They're sitting just outside the hot circle...
nogrodsmithy:
I think it's a little too warm... gotta raise the heat lamp a bit.
nogrodsmithy:
Head down, butt up... and warming under the heat lamp.
nogrodsmithy:
Chilly chicklets. Their heat lamp was unplugged during the heat of the day. Now the sun is going down and they're huddled for warmth. I did turn the lamp back on after I took this picture.
nogrodsmithy:
Wing and shoulder feathers are coming in.
nogrodsmithy:
LOOK at that face!
nogrodsmithy:
The little girls are getting bigger.
nogrodsmithy:
Yes, I'm the leader of this flock... why?
nogrodsmithy:
Living on the edge.
