10:02am and dinner is in the crockpot (pork loin, one cup brown sugar, one cup soy sauce, 6 washed but whole jalapeños - tastier than you'd expect and not spicy at all). Our dinners go so much more smoothly when this part is done. #onedayhh

10:31am Sitting down to start school with the kids. We start by coming together and chatting on the living room floor for about 30 minutes before they scatter to work independently. It's the ritual that glues us together and what I'll miss most when they

11:32am and the big girl is off. She's dually enrolled in homeschool and college so she heads of to class twice a week, accompanied by Oak, the service dog she's training. Happy/sad that she drives herself there. My babies are growing up. #onedayhh #home

11:52am and about to make the 45 minute drive to Girl Scouts. It's a long way but it's a homeschooled troop with the loveliest girls and leaders, so it's worth the time. #onedayhh #homeschool #lifeiswhatyoumakeofit

Taken at 12:05pm at a red light. The small girl gets some biology studying done in the car. She's finding the lesson on genetics and Punnett Squares tricky, so we discuss other sources she can consult for more explanation. She's dubious it will help but I

2:45pm lunch and writing in a coffee shop waiting for Girl Scouts to let out. I was so wrapped up in my writing that time flew by and I nearly forgot to post. I think that's a good sign. :) #onedayhh #surrogacy

5:49pm and the dishwasher is clean but still full and the sink is full of dirty dishes and the Mister just pulled in the driveway. Housekeeping fail. #onedayhh #thingsIsuckat

5:54pm and the kids busted into this bag I bought for baking. They expected them to be gross (then why did they open them?!?!?) but they are surprisingly mild and not bad at all. #onedayhh #lifeiswhatyoumakeofit

7:15pm and instead of being at kickboxing, I'm at the emergency vet with Oak due to a run-in with a stick. He's in fine spirits but eyes are nothing to mess with, especially for guide dogs. #onedayhh
