Katakura Silk - first image I saw. I'd long wanted a Silk & this was the first one I saw in my size. I contacted the owner in the US, a deal was reached and he sent it over to me in a very well made box.
Dawes-man:
A picture I took of under the seat lug. Mr Sugiyama explained that this lug comes flat, is bent around the tubes and then welded shut.
Dawes-man:
After spending a couple of minutes with the Machinery Cleanery brushes I decided to take a 'before' photo.

Still a bit more to do. NevrDull is very useful in revealing where any rust remains as it turns it black, as in this photo.

Fitting the headset... Mr Sugiyama made sure the head tube ends were parallel to each other and here is fitting a head set. It was a cheap Tange Prestige, which I later swapped with a period Tange Falcon.
